Improving lifestyles
The 1960s lifestyle improvement campaigns for food, clothing and housing and the introduction of standards for family ceremonies (Gajeong Uirye Junchik, established in 1969) continued into the 1970s under the New Village Movement. Because women were mainly responsible for food, clothing and housing habits and family ceremonies, the lifestyle improvement campaigns were firmly within the work of the womens’ groups.
