Guideline for Online Collection Users

  1. 1. When explaining the location of the person or object in the picture, it is based on the perspective of the person who sees the picture.

  3. 3. The bottons on the upper-right corner of the thematic collections have the following functions:
    1. 1) Click Contens botton to see the table of contents for the collection. If you select a specific item in the table of contents, you will go directly to that item.
    2. 2) Click Search botton to open the search box. Enter the keyword you want to search for and press the enter key to view the search results.
    3. 3) Click Slideshow button to see photographs in a slideshow. This is useful if you want to see the entire photographs in the without captions.
    4. 4) Click Introduction button to see a brief introduction to the content.
    5. 5) Details of the photographic materials used to create the contents can be found in the Electronic Archive of the National Institute of Korean History. Click Go to the Archives button at the bottom of each photo in the collection to link to the Archive webpage. (http://archive.history.go.kr/) When you are connected to the webpage, if you can't see the original image and only the bibliography information is shown, the use of photographic materials is restricted due to copyright issues.
    6. 6) The ‘Korean Provisional Government’ collection provides personal information service. This service is available only for pictures with Personal information mark in the upper-right corner of the list. icon on the upper right side. Click a picture to view the enlarged image of the picture. Click personal information button in the bottom right corner of the picture to see the image that shows the name of the person in the picture.
