Government activities
The Chinese government had not helped the Korean Provisional Government until the Korean Patriotic Corps’ actions against Japan. But, after the patriotic deeds by Yi Bongchang and Yun Bonggil, both the Chinese government and the Chinese people supported the Korean Provisional Government. Jiang Jieshi said, “One young Korean man did what one million Chinese forces could not”, and suggested a meeting with Kim Gu. At the meeting of Jiang Jieshi and Kim Gu, Jiang offered to establish a special class for Koreans at the Central Military School for the Chinese Army to train young Korean men as elementary-level military leaders.
