Korean Independence Army
The Korean Provisional Government established the Korean Independence Army on September 17, 1940. The Independence Army was the army of the Provisional Government that inherited the spirit of the Great Han Empire Army and the human resources of the Independence Armies. The Provisional Government had two main military activities: first, to join the Allied forces’ fight against Japan in order to achieve the status of the Allied countries after the war. The second objective was to unite the military groups outside Korea and to seek ways for the military forces to enter Korea to liberate the country.
