Extra-governmental Bodies
During the Chongqing period, the Korean Provisional Government maintained various extra-governmental bodies, such as the Korean Revolutionary Women’s Association, the Korean Patriotic Women's Association, and the China-Korea Cultural Association. The China-Korea Cultural Association was created in October 1942 by Korean and Chinese leaders to promote friendship and better relations between the two countries. The Chinese government began to support the Korean Provisional Government after Yun Bonggil’s attempted assassination of the Japanese emperor, and it gave greater active support for the Provisional Government after the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War.
