Signs at the entrance of villages show to the outside world the resolution of young village elites to become a bugang maeul or a Danish-type village. Bugang maeul is not the name of the village, but is a slogan meaning prosperous village. Terms like bugang maeul and other similar expressions were adopted to distinguish the community from other ordinary villages.
